When people hear that name they think of winners. Attending South Point the last three years has been the greatest experience of my life, While I have been here there have been two state athletic championships. In 1979 the football team went 14-0 for the State 3A title. In 1981 I had the privilege of playing for the State 3A baseball championship team. Not only does South Point excel in sports, but the people here at South Point are Number 1, too. Just walking down the halls of South Point is a great experience. The student body has an air about it that is unique. You can tell that all the students are Red Raiders, and they are definitely proud to show it. In leaving South Point I would like to thank the students, teachers, and administration for all of their guidance, encouragement, and the chance to be a big part of South Point. I may be leaving physically, but my heart will always be a part of this great organization. Class of '82 and South Point-you are truly Number 1. Dale Beaty I .WJ '7 MZ. 3 My South Point years have been most stimulating and productive up to this point of my life. I feel that when I leave South Point, I will have the confidence and preparation necessary to lead a successful college life and later the life of a productive, responsible adult. My most valuable memories, though, stem from the wonderful people, especially teachers, that are now my friends. Even though I will miss them, I look forward to leaving the security of these friendships for the adventure of discovering and making my future. Gerri Dobbins The first day I entered South Point I was a frightened sophomore anxious to be a part of that Number 1 Raider school. I soon leamed that the only way to become a part of that wonderful family was to get involved. Now almost everything I do is the result of getting myself involved. My advice to those of you who still have time left here is to go afier what you've always wanted. If you leave feeling empty, it won't be anyonels fault but your own. Set goals for yourself and strive every day to meet them. Don't let opportunities pass you by, but do your best at everything. Your life will be much fuller and happier because of it. Jan Duncan 'RESP' South Point: These words mear many things to many people. To me instantly they bring a great sense oi pride, an over all warmth, and 2 spontaneous smile. The words bring a rush of wonderful memo- ries-memories that can never be forgotten, but instead stored in a veq special place in my heart. In the past three years I have come to leam and love so many things and people. I've found that it's not the building itself that makes South Point the best, but the people within the school. We all seem to have a driving force within us to be the best Ca quality I know will always live inside me and help me in the futurel. Therefore we become the best. Leaving South Point, I have mixed feelings-sadness, for I will truly miss the many friends I have made and the closeness we have all shared. There will also be happiness, for I have nothing but the fondest of memories to carry with me through a lifetime. Denese Harper

Senior Class ,ion ,196 -415 JC' , .fi l wx, 317 l all I ll -5 4 - t- 11. lll llll I Friendship, I feel, is one of the most fital ingredients here at South Point. Even 'though people close to me Iaduated, there were always others 'oming up. They were not there eplacing old friends, but were iecoming new friends. Too, there is our class, the Class of 32. We have been together for three lorious years. Although we are all iifferent, we are united in a common 'ond of friendship and have grown loser with each triumph. The times shared both in and out if class will forever be engraved in my fiind to reflect upon in years to come. am proud to say, South Point you re truly my friend. Randy Lineberger f N. , i I 1, Someone very special to me once said, Your feelings and lifestyle will change and grow during your high school years, especially that last year. I replied, Maybe, but I will find out for myself. Boy, was he right! I'm going through those changes now. Sometimes I think I'm growing up, and sometimes I think I'm still a little girl. Thinking back to my first year here, I thought I had life all planned out. Now so many plans have disappeared. I do have some definite plans and intend to follow through. Some others have really gotten me scared and confused. Things I once believed in have changed. In order to understand any part of life, you have to experience it. Those open doors get slammed in your face just as fast as the blink of an eye. One important thing I've learned is that you must enjoy life while you can, or else you miss out on many happenings Tonjua Pullings During the past three years, I have realized that love, friendship, and spirit working together can create many masterpieces, both great and small. This spirit of working together brings about a mutual respect for each other. It is our spirit that shines through the darkness, showing us the path. The path will soon turn into a fast-moving expressway. We will then be able to pause for a moment, cherish our memories, but yet realize that the light of our spirits beckon us onward still. Mary Scoggins lvl 4 X. South Point-you are an inexplic- able force-a force that makes one strive and aspire to excel at anything. You have shown that any obstacle can be conquered if the motivation is present. It was manifested during the 1979 football season and the 1981 baseball season. WE, and they, became champions. This may make you wonder about why the world never gives comradeship a try. Friends, coaches, and teachers, you have prepared me for another world with knowledge, encouragement, and Caring. The memories ofyou I will hold forever, Thanks, You are the Best! Keith Young lg 65
