There were many new experiences that the sophomore had to look forward to, or dread, whatever the case may be. Drivefs Ed. seemed to cover both. Students were glad to be learning to drive, but were also scared of totally destroying the car, as well as the passengers. After six weeks of class work and six hours of roadwork, the students weren't quite as scared and were ready for their sixteenth birthday and, hopefully, their license.

In Art I students learned the basics of art by drawing, painting and sculpturing clay. Also, students took tests to help them recognize art terms. In A11 II and III, students went farther into their drawings, paintings, and sculptures and usually displayed alot of their work in art shows around the Gastonia area. 42

The entire chorus is learning to sing in Latin and all of them have the chance to audition for Honors Chorus or the Mars Hill Choral Clinic.
