Many students may have felt as though they were being projected back through time and space into a time of colonial uncertainty, or perhaps just back to the Watergate Era. Other students were taking different trips-trips into the subconscious mind in their Psychology classes. Psychology, being one of the most popular courses offered at South Point, deals with human behavior and its condition under certain stresses. Other areas of study in this class were mental illness, perception and emotions. Also offered for those who were more interested in study of our nation's history was an Advanced Placement History course. After completion of the course the fourteen select students who took the course are tested for six hours of college credit. This course took long hours of reading and studying for Mrs. Medlock, the instructor, as well as the students participating. Either as a sophomore or a junior, students were required to take U.S. Studies. Students in this class were taught about laws and the law-making system of the United State. Another course is World Cultures. This class is basically about the cultures of the world, the way certain people live, and their lives. All in all, South Point students have a variety of history courses to choose from for better learning. .vv . , XX Cookie Thompson gives the photographer a mean look. There are three science courses available at South Point-biology, chemistry, and physics. Biology is taught to sophomores. These students study genetics, anatomy, and ecology. Chemistry is the scientific study of atoms and molecular structure, Chemistry students do many experiments and lab. write-ups. Physics is the study of force, motion, and gravi- tation. These are only a few of the things students leam in this class. Taking this fully prepares students for the science classes they may take in college.
