For the sports fans, the football team shut out Burns 13-0. But for 16 lovely ladies, being a member of the 1981 Homecoming Court is unforgettable. There was shopping to be done, a special dinner was attended, and practice with the band for the special night. Spirit week was a huge success. Students enjoyed participating in Stomp-'em, Lick'em, Boy hates Girl, and Girl hates Boy days. Friday began with a school assembly. Each girl, dressed in a formal gown, spoke of South Point in a speech entitled Spir'it,'. Their senior football player escorts were dressed handsomely in suits. At the football match, emotions ran high. As Joe Messer began his presentation of the queen, the crowd quietened. Then, for the second time in the history of the school, the voting was proclaimed a tie!!! Miss Denese Harper and Miss Marci Holt were both crowned 198 1 Homecoming Queen. With tears in their eyes, they each accepted a bonquet of roses, a diamond crown and the traditional uQueen's sash . These two girls will always share this special day. gw.mr 'H a
