The ig difference between this cham- ion and any other, is that he has four eet and a lot of shaggy hair. || His name was Brutus, a two-year-old uStralian Shepherd, who was the i |) urrent World Champion Frisbee Cat- hher.Known in frisbee circles as Bouncin’ Boo,” he and his owner, Bill Murphy, took the world title on September 12, 1982, at Wrigley Field in Chicago. According to Murphy there was some tough competition, each dog being judged on variety of catches, number of catches, and leaping ability. As students witnessed, Brutus was adept at his chosen task and posed some tough competition for all of his challengers. When asked about his ti- tle, Brutus gripped his frisbee a little tighter and drooled, obviously Of canines frisbees gloating over his new found fame. Other activities offered to students that day were three f risbee contests. Accuracy, throwing ability, and creativeness were tested by the hoop contest, the distance contest, and the original catch contest, respec- tively. by Kevin Smith All eyes are on the hoop as Bruce Rhyne, sophomore, participates in the accuracy contest.
