Mrs. Helen Roberts, Drama instructor at South Plains College received the Achievement Award the 'Levelland Chamber of Commerce at the Annual Awards Banquet held February 5 at Texan on Campus. The award was in recognition of the drama department's presentation of special Children's Plays it has given annually during the Christmas Season. In December of 1970 the College Players with the help of nine public school children presented Once a Clotheslinef' while in December of 1971 the College Players presented another children's play, In accepting the award Mrs. Roberts stated, It is with great pleasure that the Drama Department the Children and the community of Levellandg and it is through this medium that drama stu- are afforded an excellent opportunity to excel in the educational theatre. The achievement is accepted with pride and pleasure. Mrs. Roberts has been Drama instructor at South Plains College for the past four years. She received er Bachelor's Degree from Hardin-Simmons University and her Master's Degree from Texas Tech niversity. '
