tl 'WX X Qi -f.--P, nav V . . 4' A capacity crowd was on hand in the South Plains College Auditorium Tuesday, February 8, to witne the crowning of Miss Terri Gerik as the 1971-72 Miss Caprock Beauty. Miss Gerik was crowned by la year's winner Kathy Newsom of Smyer. Miss Gerik is a SPC sophomore student from Pep. She is twenty years old, has blue eyes and brown hal She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Gerik of Pep. The newly crowned queen is an active student at South Plains College where she is a Presidential Hos ess, and she holds membership in the Student Education Association and the Drama Club. During the fa semester, she was a member of the Tex-Anns. Terri enjoys skiing, reading, horseback riding, and workin on the stage. She was sponsored in this year's pageant by Gillespie Hall. First Runner-Up in the pageant was Miss Annette Simon, a sophomore student from Tulia. She repr sented the Newman Club. Miss Candy Copeland, a Levelland freshman, captured the Second Runner-Up spot. Miss Copeland repr sented the Texan Band. The Third Runner-Up position went to Miss Janet Setliff of Littlefield and Ft. Worth. Miss Setliff repr sented the Press Club. Fourth Runner-Up was Miss Dusty Hensley, a freshman student from Sundown. Miss Hensley represen ed the Baptist Student Union.
