Alpha Phi Omega Organizes E? V f. Mvlv' lg 'z,,i. will, xx llsl' ' iliwli 0' f T L' vp-I .- . . I -an Alpha Phi Omega, the National Service Fraternity for college and university men, has organized a chapter on the South Plains College campus. Alpha Phi Omega QAPOJ was founded at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania in 1925, and today it is the largest national service fra- ternity with over 400 college and university chapters. Since its found- ing more than 110,000 men have joined APO, and among its members have been many distinguished Americans including United States Senators, state governors, presidential advisors and cabinet officials and a U.S. Astronaut who took an APO pin to the moon with him. Because Alpha Phi Omega is a service fraternity, its major func- tion is to render service to the campus, community, chapter and na- tion. Each chapter tailors its program to its own campus and commu- nity. The purpose of this fraternity is to assemble college men in a na- tional service fraternity in the fellowship of the principles of the BSA to develop leadership, to promote friendship and provide service to humanity. It is emphasized that APO is not a Boy Scout organiza- tion and does not require that its members have been scouts in the past. Membership in Alpha Phi Omega does not imply all Work! The fra- ternity offers many chances for social as well as service activities. Mixers, dances, picnics, and parties . . . plus fellowship and service functions . . . are an integral part of the chapter program. s 7: t Jim Womack Rex Brooke Mike Box John Gresley Charlie Reasoner David Mill er Kenny Bryan Vayland Van Cleeve 7
