They Did H Again! Ill-0 For the second year in a row, the Girl's Cross Country Team took the Mid- State Conference title. Their coach, Miss Nancy Erickson, has now compiled a 3 year record of 30- 2. In the Mid-State Conference Meet, the team took first overall. Freshman Laurie Barg placed 2nd, junior Leslie Barg took 3rd, and senior Sharon White came in 6th, The team received 29 points while 2nd place Franklin had 69 points. In the Middlesex County Meet, the girls took the title in front of 2nd place Metuchen. Sharon White placed 7th, and Laurie and Leslie Barg came in 8th and 11th respectively. Over 100 girls ran in the meet. In the Group 3 Central jersey Sectionals, the team took 5th place. ln 11 undefeated dual meets this season, their average point score was 18, while their opponents averaged more than 40. Last year's school record of 12:11 for 1.9 miles was broken 3 times this year. First by Sharon White at 11:44, then by Laurie Barg at 11:43. Finally, with an outstanding run at Franklin Township, White captured the record with a time of11:42.
