In a festive atmosphere, students sam- pled international dishes vvhile learning about holiday customs of other countries. This spring the Language Department again sponsored a ten-day trip to Spain. J L, Physical Educafion Since moving to the nevv high school three years ago, the biggest change in Physical Education has been the conversion to co-ed gym. Students this year had a variety of activities ranging from football and soccer to self-defense and roller skating. Also offered were archery, tennis, basketball, vveightroom, and the usual favor- ite, volleyball. Most students like the vvider choice of sports and the chance to compete with the opposite sex. Another change in the physical education program vvas the full marking period of health as opposed to alternating four-and-one- half vveek schedules. Students follow a prepared course of health in their four years. They start vvith studies in drugs, drinking, and tobacco, and progress to first-aid and safety, driverfs education, and finally sex-education in the senior year. i Y
