Music fo March By The Tiger Marching Band had another busy and successful year. Besides competing in numerous competitions and parades, the band performed the pre-game ceremonies at the fourth game of the World Series in Yan- kee Stadium. Qweef 90 unds of Music ln spite of the confusion of forgot- ten bow ties and gloves, the SPHS Chorus under the direction of Peter Franks, has had quite an active year. Not only did the lades receive new shirts but the Emeralds made their own new gowns. The new outfits were presented to the public at the annual Christmas Concert, in which the alumni were invited to sing along. Besides the Chrismas and Spring Concerts the traveling Chorus did indeed do alot of traveling. Among the many regulars which include performances at Menlo Park Mall, Middlesex Mall, Wesley Methodist Church and the New York Port Authority. A special treat for this year was per- forming as the External Chorus in the performance of 'Cavalleria Rusticana' with the New jersey State Opera in Newark's Symphony Hall. Chorus officers this year were President William Keefer, Vice President Deirdre Berry, Sec. Treasurer Aprel McDonald. This past November four chorus members represented South Plainfield in the N.l. All-State Chorus concert. Deir- dre Berry, soprano, Karen Walter, alto, Bill Keefer, tenor, Brad Fitzsimmons, bass.
