Field Hookeg Looks To The Future '67 l Left to right, first row: Co-Capt. Carol McCauley, Maureen Readie, Leslie Barg, lacki McDonough, Roxanne lentis, co- capt., Mel Petrone, joan Luthman. Second row: Coach Carol Espinosa, Diane Sacco, Laurie Atcachunas, janet Dilello, Diane Bush, Ginger Sulovski, Diane Dare, Cathy Campanelli, Debbie Bishop, The field hockey team had a genuine rebuilding year. After losing nine seniors, the team came up with a 3-7-5 record. This record is deceiving since the team tied many excellent teams and lost games by very low scores. They also reached the semi-finals of the Middlesex County Tournament. Senior MVP and co-captain Mel Petrone was also named to the Mid- State Conference offensive line. The team is looking forward to a successful season next year, although they regret losing senior co-captains Mel Petrone and Carol McCauley. Return- ing to the lineup next year will be juniors Diane Bush, janet Dilello, Roxanne lentis, loan Luthman, Maureen Readie, Les- lie Barg, Sophomores lacki McDonough and Ginger Sulovski and Freshman Laurie Atcachunas. Coach Carol Espinosa is a prominent figure among her team. The respect and love that she receives from her players is generated by the understanding that she shows. Despite their trying season they maintained their spirit for the present while looking forward to the future.

Second row: Coach Jacqueline Angioletti, Michele Sulovski, Diane Stranzenback, Betsy Stranzenback, Donna Van Haren, Linda Meade, April McDonald. Above: Senior Captain Carol Schmidt, who faced the top first doubles players in the conference, easily returns the shot. This year's tennis team ended their season with a record of 5-10. This was quite successful considering last year's winless club record. Senior captain Carol Schmidt, who held the teams toughest spot at first singles did a fine job against very stiff competition and was named the teams M.V.P. Junior Evie Price had the second sin- gles job and is a strong hope for next year. Another Jun- ior Pat Eckel, played third singles and had the best indi- vidual record on the team of 11-4. Senior co-captain Maureen McShane partnered with senior Judy Markham did an outstanding Job at first doubles and will be sin- cerely missed next year. Other senior doubles players who helped the team considerably are Diane Stranzen- back and Rhonda Leck. Returning to next year's team are very talented Karen Zonowith, Robin Thibault, Bet- sey Stranzenback, Donna Van Haren, Linda Meade and April McDonald. Coach Jacqueline Angioletti was an inspirational figure to this new varsity team and is look- ing forward to a successful season next year.
