When The Going Gels Tough. The Tough Gel Going . . . Mid-Stale Champs As a second year varsity sport the cross country team fin- ished first in the Ivlid-State Conference. The team also placed second in the Middlesex County Meet and ninth in the state sectionals. During the regular season the team devastated the previous Mid-State Champs Franklin Township, 37-18. They ended their season with a fantastic 10-1 record. Senior co-captain Claire Gursky finished first in the Confer- ence meet with a time of 11:18 on the two mile course. M.V.P. Senior co-captain janice Baunach holds the two mile S.P. course record with a time of 12:11. The team suffered a great loss when junior co-captain Sharon White was plagued with a knee injury. juniors Kathy Baunach, Terri Stead, janet Par- tika and Nancy Sullivan give great promise to next year's team and freshman Cindy Eckel and Teddy Ann Slavoski are defi- nite hopes for the future.
