Though its record was only 2-13, a number of fine three milers were developed, Senior Bill Slavoski, Ray Palazzo, and Leonard Wright made the most progress with Henry Torro, jim O'Hara, Chris Loivlonte, and Tom Conshay not far behind. Other members of the team were john Kratz, john Carrol, joe and john Abbruzzese, Henry Montfer- rante and joe DeCarIo. Henry Torro Mbovej will be one of the returning runners for next year's team. When The Going Gels Tough. The Tough Gel Going . . . Mid-Stale Champs As a second year varsity sport the cross country team fin- ished first in the Ivlid-State Conference. The team also placed second in the Middlesex County Meet and ninth in the state sectionals. During the regular season the team devastated the previous Mid-State Champs Franklin Township, 37-18. They ended their season with a fantastic 10-1 record. Senior co-captain Claire Gursky finished first in the Confer- ence meet with a time of 11:18 on the two mile course. M.V.P. Senior co-captain janice Baunach holds the two mile S.P. course record with a time of 12:11. The team suffered a great loss when junior co-captain Sharon White was plagued with a knee injury. juniors Kathy Baunach, Terri Stead, janet Par- tika and Nancy Sullivan give great promise to next year's team and freshman Cindy Eckel and Teddy Ann Slavoski are defi- nite hopes for the future.
