The Hall Patrol meets bi-monthly. The FIRE DRILLS The purpose of our fire drills is to develop a habit of how to act during a fire drill and, if necessary, an actual fire. lt has been proven that many deaths are a result of panic, rather than burns. Asphyxiation during panic, is also a major cause of death. Fire drills help to alleviate this panic, and it becomes a normal reaction to follow directions of fire patrol men. The seriousness of a fire drill should never be minimized, because the elementary school is part of our building and the danger is far greater. There is an advantage of having a one -story building and window area. Although our building is as close to fire- proof as possible, the ignition of paper or clothing is a potential danger. The function of this club is to be of service to those who use the library. Students of the seventh and eighth grades are eligible to join the Junior division of the club. There is also the Senior divi- sion of the club in which all high school students are eligible. Each division meets once a week on a dif- ferent day. There is only one chief qualification to be a member of this club, and that is to have a sin- cere interest in books. X x . I . XX V , .
