The Club's aims are, to bring about a greater Lmderstanding of the language, and to have fun with French. The Club colors consist of those of the French flag--red, white and blue. ' French is spoken by all members at all meetings and the activities such as presenting skits, playing games, and singing folk songs are con- ducted in the language. Two trips are scheduled for each year, one to be taken in mid-winter and the final one at the close of the school year. DRAMATIC CLUB The Dramatic Club is designed to give members poise and self- confidence. It also acquaints them with backstage techniques. They put on a play once or twice a year for the student body. In producing these plays, students are used as directors and prompters, as well as actors. Others apply make-up, make the scenery, and help in other important jobs. This gives everyone practical experience. ART CLUB There are two Art Clubs, the Junior and the Senior. The Senior Art Club is for students in grades nine through twelve, and the Junior Art Club is for students in grades seven and eight. Both the Junior and the Senior Art Clubs meet twice a week, on different days. Each member is allowed to choose what he wishes to do. The most popular activities in the Art Club are pottery making, water colors, sketching and pastels. While the members are working, they receive instruction from their advisor. The members are also allowed to work on projects for other activities or classes, as long astheyarecon- cerned with art. if 1' if., 'v'lf ? f tra 'ff' ll' MEMBERS OF THE ODEON DRAMATIC CLUB Freshmen and Sophomores rehear- sing for the one-act play The Crimson Coconut. The Hall Patrol meets bi-monthly. The FIRE DRILLS The purpose of our fire drills is to develop a habit of how to act during a fire drill and, if necessary, an actual fire. lt has been proven that many deaths are a result of panic, rather than burns. Asphyxiation during panic, is also a major cause of death. Fire drills help to alleviate this panic, and it becomes a normal reaction to follow directions of fire patrol men. The seriousness of a fire drill should never be minimized, because the elementary school is part of our building and the danger is far greater. There is an advantage of having a one -story building and window area. Although our building is as close to fire- proof as possible, the ignition of paper or clothing is a potential danger. Briefly, the fire instructions are: fly Walk, do not run in line to the assigned exitg Q21 Absolutely no talkingg Q30 Do not pushg Q41 Follow the fire patrol's instructions.
