Oh my goodness! I'd better run! An orange and black tail with a tiger at- tached, whizzed around the corner, and soon a fluffy head popped out. This des- perate pussy was our Mike, making room for busy students. As Mike followed a group of boys and girls into the gym, their happy faces re- vealed that this was a dancing class. What fun!, thought Mike. After watching a set of square dancers go through their routine once, Mike was raring to go. He tapped all four feet in time with the music as he crossed the floor. But as he took his place beside the prettiest girl in the set, she grabbed Mike's paw and helped him to his hind feet. ' en for ascof Mz'ke Vlifliff A Dancing Clan t'Oh dear,', growled Mike. He hadn't ex- pected this. The music began, and sud- denly his long tail was sailing behind him as he was carried around in a circle left . a'Face your partner, skip around, do-si- do your corner, promenade the town. all join hands and circle right .... 'i would it never stop? Come on, Mikelw. said his gay corner lady the second he stopped to catch his breath, He shook his whiskers and his big green eyes winked a tigerish O.K.,' Round 'n round they skipped, 'till finally the record was over. An exhausted Mike with drooping ears panted over to the bleachers to rest. Cha-cha-cha . . . more music-and Mike found himself with another cute partner. The dips and turns of this cha-cha weren't meant for a young tiger like me, groaned Mike as he dreamed of lounging lazily in the sunny showcase. As the music ended. Mike's astonished partner watched him. in three great leaps, leave the gym. lt was a sorry and aching little tiger that climbed back onto his shelf that afternoon. Never againf' thought Mike. will I ever try dancing. A course in relaxing would be so much nicer. As you pass by the showcase today, please try to be a little quiet, so Mike won't waken.
