TIGER HOPES GO UP IN SMOKE-Excitement rises before the Conroe-South Park Home- coming football game. GET IN THE PICTURE- Greenies pile on the bus bound for Nacogdoches to see a bang-up football game. From September through November, Fridays and Friday nights always were filled with anxiety of the coming game . . . Senior girls blossomed out in green jumpers, sophomores wore skirts appli- qued with S.P.H.S., and juniors sported masked hats trimmed with green and white . . . Football trips had their high- lights, too, like the one to Spring Branch when Glen Guillet played waiter to thirty- five hungry Greenies who crowded one tiny sandwich shop . . . Charge was the Greenies fight yell-and charge they did right through an unbeaten year until they met State Champion Port Neches in the District AAA thriller of the season.
