lf sl Miss South oaktclgj 1987 Miss South Oak Cliff, Niccol keShay Irvlng, is an Hfmor R011 Student who is 1 the top 10 percent of her class She 13 curren ly a member Of the WSU-0001 Honor Society, and holds an eighty eight grade point average She hopes to continue to keep her average up in order to graduate with honors in June Niccol's sophomore year reflected her ability to be a S O C J V cheerleader as she cheered the team into a good season She felt that one of her greatest achievements was when she qualified to receive her driver s license the year be fore her junior year Her most gratifylng accomplishment was her ability to do well in high school She is now a member of the South Oak Cliff Yearbook Staff After graduation, Niccol s intentions are to further her education at North Texas State University, where she has been accepted She hopes to one day become a successful Interior Designer She also feels that having the title of Miss South Oak Cliff is an honor dent of the Senior Class and Secretary of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes He is a member of the National Honor Society He served as captain of the varsitv football team, and had the privilege of bein appointed to the Dallas I S D ' 5 S Academic All City Starting Line Up He has participated in various Mathematic Olympiads and Mathematics and Science fairs beg'nning in elementary and continuing through high school In ninth grade Howard attended the Science and Engineerin Magnet part time where he was a member of the Junior Engineering Technological Society He also played basketball for South Oak Cliff his freshman ye1r In tenth grade he was inducted into the lntern1tional Baccalaurate Program, and played football In his junior vear he taught a group of fourth grade students at Lisbon Flementary Howard's goal is to become an Orthopedic Specialist Once he has completed his under r d d g a uate an graduate studies, he plans to open an Orthopedic Clinic Another goal that Howard has is to establish a fund that w1ll also offer scholar ship awards for deserving young students . - - n . .
