gf. R ge . , ft In 1975, a changing image came to South Oak Cliff High School. Dr. Frederick D. Todd, Sr. became head administrator. He brought with him a motto which enhanced the legend to grow. The motto was, SOUTH OAK CLIFF, A CHANGING IMAGE, STRIVING FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE: TEACHERS TEACHING, STUDENTS LEARNING, AND PARENTS INVOLVED, It is hard to exaggerate the legacy of a legend such as South Oak Cliff High School. It is difficult being a legend because a legend must always excel above itself. It is always the target. It is the object to defeat. But, if a legend is to stay a legend it must perpetuate itself. lt must run faster and harder than all other. South Oak Cliff High School, A Legend ln Its Own Time, hands us the legacy which compels us to pay attention to the present, look toward the future and work toward excellence. If a legend is to stay a legend it must produce, and it can only produce through YOU! 11
