Clam Prophec As I was taking nv yearly vacation in my electric dynamo, I looked upon Carl Anderson spraying atomic corn grower guaranteed to grow corn in five days When I stopped to talk with him he told me that he was gett1ng ready to shuck his corn ih about another week Carl asked if I wanted to go with him to visit his old buddy, Ron Beattle, who had become quite successful as owner of a large fleet of trucks As he was attendmg a business conference in his head office in the big metropolis of Barnard, we were unable to see him so we stayed at the 'Curtsy Lou' Hotel managed by no one but our old school chum, Louise Cooper, who has now changed her name to Hrs Curt Nelson We noticed a 'dynamo wash by her son's class It sems as though this is still a popular way for senior classes to make money for their senior trips, although in my day it was car washes As I was westward bound, I passed over an experimental farm in the middle of the Dust Bowl As I lowered my dynamo for a closer look, I noticed a familiar face and recognized it to be the old class clovm, Jerry Curnutt After graduating from the University of St Louis with the highest possible degree in agriculture, he had developed a chemical that would make anything grow under any kind of condltion As I was zooming over the vast land of the Great Middle West I saw a Dude Ranch owned and managed by Karen Lewis and worser half' I noticed an old fashioned rodeo, but the only difference was that the horses had 'plush' saddles to make it easy on the 'city dudes' I noticed one particular little lady trying to approach a wild stallion I idled my dynamo fo r a closer look and much to my surprise I saw it was Marjorie Nelson, who had come West for her vacatlon She has been working in New York as a. secretary to Vanderbilt and Cooke on Wall Street Soaring on to Las Vegas to try my luck at the casinos, I walked :unto a classy joint called Sn1lin' Ed's and about fainted when I saw the ovmer to be none other than Eddie Graves, another classmate He always was one to take chances He has become quite wealthy as the owner of a large percentage of gambllng houses in Las Vegas and Reno, too After leaving Ed :Ln Nevada, I decided I wanted t o see the West Coast Wh1le passing over the large fruit orchards in Northam California and Southern Oregon, I noticed one particular orchard that spread over miles and miles! Out of cur1osity's sake I came down in my decreasing gear to snitch an apple but changed my mlnd when I saw the proprietor ani her six blonde headed kids come running out I was quite surprised to f1nd this woman a.nd her brood to be no other than my old school f!'1S1'ld, Carolyn Morriss After havlng a very nice chat with Carolyn and her husband, I was on my way for the West Coast While passing through the Yellowstone Park, I noticed a bicycle taking a hufflng and pufflng little man on a tour through the states As I looked closer I saw that it was my and his profession was g1ving tumbllng exhibitmns at cheerlead1ng clinics al l over the country He told me he had been surprised at one of the meetings to find the twin daughters of one of our classmates, Sharon Cowen She and her husband had returned to her old alma mater, S N High, to teach After talking to Francis about Sharon, I decided to rocket eastward to see her While looking around with the electric eye of my dynamo I spotted her at an MH She told m e that th1s was one of the many branches o f AMPS owned by Shirley Pierson, another of my school chums When a cute little black han-ed dynamo hop came to take my order, I was amazed at the resenblance of her face to my old S N Longhorn fnend, Marllyn Miller Later when I got to talk with Shirley she told me that she had two of MB.!'1ly'h'S daughters employed and he r other daughter was playing AAU basketball for Wesleyan College When I asked where Marilyn was she told me she was 1n New York where her son was a drum major for Notre Dame I decided then that I might take a trip to E1u'ope to see the rest of the world While passing New York, I dropped in to chat with Marilyn fo r a while and then was on my way abroad I had heard along the air waves that Betty Sexson had married an Ambassador to France, before she was married, sh e was a successful fashion designer and sometunes still worked in Paris I felt the desire for a new Paris Wardrobe so I had Betty take ne to one of the best modeling agencles in the c1ty, Mons1eur Fayette's Designlng oo-la la House My eyes popped out with awe to fmd lt owned and managed by Fay Goforth He always did have a good eye for beautiful shapes and faces While ruising along in my electric dynamo, I happened to think, Why, they were all members of sq 1957 58 graduatlng class from old S N High ! old bosom friend, Francis McMichael. While talking to him I learned that he was on vacation
