South New Berlin South New Berlin Black and gold we love Hail to thee our alma mater South New Berlin hail South New Berlin Central School South New Berlin, N.Y. 2 Through Thick and Thin I walk down these empty halls And try to imagine how it will be. When I am gone. Only memories remain Of all of the familiar people and places I see. I think of others who were before myself. All of the generations gone by. At one time, each shared the same feelings, Realized how fast time does fly. I look at these walls and wish they could talk. If only they could, history would be heard. The times are different, yet so alike. By listening, so much could be learned. I watch the days pass before my eyes; Those with so much in store. Friends share all of the happiness, Who would think to ask for more? I see, also, the times of trouble When everything appears to be wrong. We grow from the sad times And learn to be strong. I wonder what the number is Of friends lost, new ones made. These walls seem to want to answer But so harshly are forbade. I remember the smooth roads, Those you rode with a smile. Yet, the unbearable rough road Sometimes brought a tear to your eye. I grow anxious as the day grows nearer, The day for me to explore After all I’m a small town person Ready to face the world outside my door. I know the years I have spent here Have been my chance to reason. Who knows what lies ahead ... But I’ll survive ... Through Thick and Thin. Tricia Hendrix 3 The Class of 1988 would like to dedicate “Through Thick and Thin to our advisors, Mr. Thomas Bryden and Mr. Curtis Hose. We thank them for their support and making our years at SNBCS enjoyable and rewarding. Their support and guidance has brought the class closer together. As juniors, we learned a lot from them. As our Junior Prom approached, squabbles and disagreements surfaced. Mr. Bryden and Mr. Hose promised to resign as our advisors after the prom due to the lack of class cooperation and teamwork. We didn’t really blame them because we were difficult to handle. After the prom though, the class got together and decided to ask them back. They agreed with a little bit of egging on. As seniors, we have matured to the point of responsibility and are able to work as a class. Hopefully our senior trip to New York City will be a reward for both Mr. Bryden and Mr. Hose as well as for the seniors. Thank you Mr. Bryden and Mr. Hose for putting up with us and guiding us “through thick and thin. —Kendra Dibbell Superintendent: Mr. Busch Interim Superintendent: Sept.-Dee. Remember the good times, the happy, not nad. Remember the fun times, the silly, not bad. The modest tone, the quiet smile, Patient, unassuming and hard to rile. Saw in each child a bud ready to burst With a lady-like grace, she put others first. She's gone and it's difficult But you wait and see Somehow we’ll get through With the help of these memories. Bob Kerth We think of you and wish you were here. It's times like these, that make us fear What life will bring our way. If we did know, what was to come, Our lot would not be a happy one For fears would fill our day. But, go on we must, and give thanks we do, For having known someone as good as you. You have touched our lives. Your smiling face and happy-go-lucky ways, Have enriched for us many days. For us your memory still thrives. In the fall we have to get all color pictures and senior pictures done quickly to meet early deadlines. As the fall progresses we are taking pictures and trying to plan the layout of our yearbook. By November, people are beginning to ask, “When is the yearbook coming in? Little do they know that we haven't sent even half of it in to the company yet. No one realizes how much work is involved in photographing, developing, printing, cutting, fitting, typing, drawing, labeling, and last but not least, planning.
