SOUTH NEW BERLIN CENTRAL SCHOOL South New Berlin, New York Dawn M. DeBoer, Editor THE SAGA ALMA MATER In the Unadilla Valley, Where our Southtown lies, Stands our noble Alma Mater, Glorious to view. South New Berlin, South New Berlin, Black and gold, we love. Hail to thee our Alma Mater, South New Berlin, Hail. 2 DEDICATION We, the graduating Class of 1968, wish to dedicate our yearbook to Mrs. Osborne, Junior-Senior High School Mathematics teacher. In the past six years she has given us invaluable help and guidance as our class advisor, teacher, and friend. May the dedication of this yearbook to her serve as an expression of our gratitude. ADMINISTRATION Donald G. Preston Administrative Assistant Ernest G. Youmans District Superintendent BOARD OF EDUCATION Row 1: Kenneth Simpson; Harry Pike, President Row 2: Robert Law; Herbert Reed, C le r k; Elwood Fredrickson Absent: Frank Kopko, Vice President Richard A. Marsters, Supervising Principal It has been said that individuality is either the mark of genius or the reverse; mediocrity finds safety in standardization. Some of you have an individuality which may indicate great potential. How this is used may bring great satisfaction to you and others as your life unfolds, or it may not. Others of you will seek a more secure life by complying with ac- cepted standards. You should analyze your own individuality to see if its potential is properly directed toward goals of most benefit to you and your society. Is your present in- dividuality a true beneficial one or is it merely a passing fad which, along with others, becomes the worst form of standardization? You will be the best judge. Sincere wishes to each member of the 1968 graduating class that j ou may develop your individuality to its utmost so that it is rewarding to you and your fellow man. This policy was revised in September 1967 to better insure the completion of the 18 units required for graduation. The following rule applies to the school year Sept. 1967-June 1968. Any student not promoted in September 1967 and not failing more than one course at the 20 week marking period, January 1968 may be placed in the next higher homeroom. Since the yearbook must be sent to the publisher before this time we are listing the students by homerooms for the first semester. An asterisk ( ) before the name of a stu- dent indicates a possibility of being advanced to the next homeroom if said requirements are met. Unfortunately we cannot foresee what the future holds. We on the yearbook staff felt the fairest way to handle the problem was to follow the policy to the letter. If we have hurt anyones feelings by doing this, we are very sorry.
