Richard A. Marsters, SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL Students and adults are living in a world split by ideological conflict, threatened by nuclear destruction and at best, filled with rapid scientific and industrial advances that are difficult to comprehend. Some may feel overwhelmed by all of this and feel it is futile to do anything about it. This is not the basis upon which our civilization and our country have been built. History shows that men have faced similar odds, equally serious for the times, have met them and have successfully overcome them to reach greater achievements. Our schools try to prepare you for the trials ahead, but the future depends upon how our young people meet the challenge. The boys and girls of our free societies are the future leaders to whom we look for a solution of the many world problems. 7 My most sincere wishes go with the Class of 1962 for success in all their endeavors.
