Donna Manley The Senior Play HEADIN' FOR THE HILLS which was presented in our school Nov- ember 29 and 30, 1955 was a great success. The profit made made was $250.85 The second night the play was to be presented was a very bad night; the roads were very slippery and snow was falling. Not many people were expected to come to the play and all the cast felt downhearted, but we discovered that there was almost a full house again that night. The members of the cast w'ere pleased to have the Harpursvilie Central School bring their senior play members to our play. All of us had gone down there the previous week to see theirs-both groups having done the same play. After our second night production the cast and guests plus chaperones held a party in the gym until 12:00 p.m. Games and the dancing were enjoyed by all and refreshments were served. Under the supervision of Mrs. Jamba, the Homemaking teacher, a huge decorated cake was prepared for the occasion. Miss Shillabeer, the director of the play was given a jewelry box and an orchid by the seniors as tokens of appreciation for the wonderful job and hard work she did and I think we all agreed that she did a marvelous job. One of the pictures taken of the play was chosen by the Heur Publishing Company to be used by them in the next printing of the play books. The Seniors were given a check for five dollars for the use of the picture. 17
