It is through Mr. Thorne's efforts as a faculty adivsor that our class is well prepared to take our annual trip to Washington. It was his patience and perseverance which got our class organized and working toward this goal. We owe Mrs. I horne a debt of gratitude for her leadership in conducting our jun- ior prom and other extra-curricular activities. Although not a member of our faculty, she gave us her valuable time freely and without asking anything in return. Whether we were conducting a dinner or a prom, Mrs. Thorne could always be counted on to supply the woman's touch so vital to the success of these affairs. In short, we would like to say thank you to a wonderful couple who were interested in our affairs and worked side by side with us to make them a success. The seventh and eighth grades form the Junior Nathan Taylor Chapter of forty-two mem- bers. The Senior Chapter from grades nine through twelve, have twenty-five members. Emory Ford is president of the junior chapter, assisted by Norma Jensen, vice-pres- ident, Patty Wood, treasurer, and Dale Utter, secretary. Marcia Robinson wields the gavel in the senior group. Elma Utter is vice-president, Christine Aders serves as secretary, and Dicky Bell holds the money bag as treasurer. In December the chapters combined to entertain their parents at a Christmas party. There was a short program, the highlight of which was an illustrated lecture on historic Mohawk Valley given by William Johnson of Sidney. Both chapters are earning money by holding bake sales. They hope to go on field trips in May. On March 11 the senior chapter sponsored a movie, The Last of the Mohicans.” At one meeting we had as guest speaker, Mrs. Louise Shinners, country historian. An interesting feature of the year was a party in the form of a square dance given to the members of the Sidney chapters. —2 — FAIRYLAND BALL King ...................Thomas Meade Queen .........................
