The Links of ci Chain N . X N A 'wo The links of a chain are very like our lives. As each chain is made up of many links, so our lives consist of many di- verse parts. Childhood, adolescence, and maturity are the basic links, but as one looks beneath the surface, it is ob- vious that the links are made up of other smaller links. And, since most of our time and activity are involved with school, school is an important link. Yet, school itself is complex -there are many links in this part of the chain. Study and play, competition and observation, laughter and tears, are iust a few of the vital links. If one link were to be lost, the whole chain would be hurt. So, here we remember the year that has become another link in our lives and the special things that made the year unique. Study... A fi? yksi Contemplcition..

uf l X Conversotion... X RTX -.-evqwv Everything that happened this year is something to be remembered, for every event, no matter how small, con- tributed something to our lives. As we crammed for that exam, talked with a friend in the quad, or cheered the team to victory, we were unknowingly adding to the chain that connects our childhood with the years that stretch ahead of us. Each day added to our experience and added to and strengthened our moral convictions. As we learned more about our world, we tried to fit ourselves to be worthy, productive citizens. Contact with many others broadened our horizons and made us more intensely aware ofthe magnitude of the world we inhabit. So, daily, in countless intangible ways, we forged the links of a chain.
