Graco and form are demonstrated by these girls in their modern dance class -w. 1 K 2.f 3 X Off to a flying start, this girl shows the vim vigor, and vitality so typical of South Mountain athletes. Girls P.E. Physical fitness, especially for the young generation, is of growing concern. Physi- cal education fP.E.l classes keep students busy exercising, playing, and dancing. Mind as well as body is educated. Sports- manship, teamwork, and cooperation are taught in P.E. Girls participate in many varied sports. There are four teachers in the special ed- ucation department, with Mr. Tsakiris as the head. Courses in English, science, government, social studies, economics, and mathematics are taught. Special education classes are for the slow students who have trouble reading or are non-readers. These classes are open to all students, from freshmen to seniors. Students taking special education courses will find able and understanding teach- ers and a program which is geared to their own speed and ability. SPECIAL EDUCATION Paul Tsakiris B.A., A.S.U. M.A., A.S.U. Mr. Tubmln focuses his attention on two of his more industrious students.

Coaches are taught that a boy's physical well-being is a maior part of his life and they do their best to see that boys get this well-being Through better games, sportsmanship, and a sense of achieve- ment. This year South Mountain's coaches have organized good teams of football, basketball, wrestling, and gymnastics. I.ot's go where the action is!
