Mr. Mclntyre, a biology teacher, is also head of our science department. Not only biology, but physics, chemistry, earth and space science, and courses in general science are offered. Dissecting a fetal pig, smelling up the chemistry lab, and building an atom smasher are unforgettable events that bring many a smile to South Mountain students. Finding a paramecium- or see- ing the Big Dipper gives a sense of achievement to others. The teachers here are as varied as the courses. Mr. Canham, who teaches chemistry, is a qualified ham operator, and Mr. Mclntyre was a photographer before teaching and still does photog- raphy for a hobby. Mr. Sanders, who is a new addition to the science depart- ment, teaches both physics and math- ematics. Rebel students will find an able and qualified science staff. Alfred R. Andrews M.
