Our two deans, LILLIE KOL- LATH and PAUL BAUHS, ae tended Central State Teachers’ Col- lege and the University of Wiscon- sin, respectively. Miss Kollath, who is also a National Honor Society ad- viser, gardens as a hobby. Mr. Bauhs, B.A. and M.A., golfs and plays tennis in his “‘off-time,” but his recent ankle injury may slow him down a bit. In the Vocational School we find CHARLES R. LEVINSON, with a B.Ed. from Oshkosh; his hobby is music; then MRS. JEAN ROBB, commercial teacher with a B.E. from Whitewater. ALFRED G. WESTERN, B.E. from Oshkosh, superintendent of the Vocational building, is also a golfer and fisher- man. MISS LEONA BOVEE, B.S,.. Wisconsin, teaches Home Economics and practices it, too. JEROME? COLBY SBiosaey lar. quette, teaches academic subjects to the Vocational boys, does carving as a hobby, and plays tennis. ‘The various office forces manage to keep everything running smooth- ly. The back row finds HARVEY STEV- ENS first. He got his B.S. at Milwaukee State Teachers’. His hobbies are reading and swimming, and he advises Pep Club. JAMES MICHNA teaches Journaliqm in connection with his “Harbinger” work.. His B.S. was earned at Wisconsin and Chicago. MRS. ROY SCHMELING (Dorothy Wagner before March 23), Bay Mist adviser, has her B.A. and B.S. from Minnesota. She’s interested in airplanes, swing records, and writing short stories. Between Senior Class play and Q Club, MARION GILBERT is kept busy. But she finds time to play the accordion, too. Her B.A. is a Wisconsin product. EDMUND KOWALCZYK has a B.A. from Notre Dame and Marquette. All sports and reading are what he likes best. He’s in charge of Polish Club, is: track assistant, and equipment manager. In the front row, we find VIOLA LOESEKE, Cub Courier adviser. She has her B.A. from Ilinois. FLORENCE KUHN, B.A., Wisconsin, likes music, reading, and sports. She advises in forensics and teaches German, too. PATRICIA DAMON, B.A., Carleton College, is on the forensics and commencement committees. Bicycles and badminton are her hobbies. Chairman of forensics is BERENICE KUSHNER, who went to Superior State Teachers’ College where she got her B.E. degree. Her interests are reading and sewing. MARION SCHIMMELPFENNIG is a B.A. from Milwaukee-Downer. She likes bow]- ing and horseback riding. Footlights and Forensics are her clubs. 6

Meet Our Adminishrate OD @ John P. Mann, our superintendent, is administrator of South Maulwaukee’s four yrade schools, as well as the high school. His professional training at Ripon and the University of Wisconsin gained him B.A. and M.A. degrees. For recreation, he turns to books and athletics. Walk into the office of R. G. Hein, our principal, and two of his many hobbies will catch your eye—his collection of dogs and the pictures of his young son. Mr. Hein has his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Wisconsin and Minnesota. South Miulwaukee’s home, school and community interests are found in our Board of Education. “These men meet monthly (oftener, if necessary) to consider policies and decide matters about buildings and grounds, instruction, finance, and rules. We Guide Shidents The Science Department goes outside its realm for diversion THEODORE WHITENACK, B.Ph., Wis- consin and M.E., Marquette, likes all sports and advises the golf team. PAULINE DAUB, B.S. and B.Ed. from Wisconsin, is Student Council adviser and a collector of book covers. Giving the Noon hour students entertain- ment is the other job of HELEN OCKERSHAUSER. MELVIN “DOC” HINTZ has two strange-sounding hobbies, Circusiana and Micro-technique. (Ask him to explain). He has his B.A. degree from Carroll College, his M.A. from Wisconsin, and is ticket sales manager and National Honor Society adviser. LORRAINE LLOYD, who got her B.A. degree at Wisconsin, Northwestern, Loyola, and Western Reserve, has clay modeling and traveling as her hobbies. The Matematicians have variety in their interests. HARVEY McKENZIE, B.A., Wisconsin, collects coins as a hobby, as well as on his job. (He’s manager of school banking and ticket sales.) CORNELIA LAMB, who got her B.A. at Ripon, is Girl Reserve adviser when she’s not teaching Math. HAROLD VIET H likes sports and reading; he advises Junior Senate and Intramural Ath- letics; his B.A. came from State Teachers’ College. RICHARD FULLER received his B.S. degree from Westminster College. Math, woodworking, and Indian relics are his hobbies, and he’s in charge of men’s intra- murals and Freshman football. ROBERT SHREVE takes your picture—photography is his hobby, and he’s in charge of alll Audio-Visual operations. His Ph.B. and M.A. were received at. Lawrence. Social Studies finds ERIC BECKER first in line. He received his B.S. at Oshkosh State Teachers’ and now advises Hi-Y, track, and cross country, and has golf, tennis, and movies for hobbies. In spite of advising Girl Reserves, Ring Club, being’ on National Honor Society committee, and teaching history, HELEN WITHERBEE still finds time to skate and ‘read. When she’s not teaching Social Prob- lems tothe Seniors, reading, or working on forengd¢s, MRS. RUSSELL GOEDJEN (Marie Grumann before Feb. 14) is adviser for ‘assembly council. She has a B.S. from Wisconsin. WILLIAM WARNER, in addi- tion to devising homework and tests, is ad- yiser to Cardo Club and an ardent fisherman ands hunter. He worked at Marion College and the University of Wisconsin for his B.A. and M.A.
