This is due to the excellent leadership of Latin's own Goddess of Wisdom, Miss Alice A. Hackman. If you have time, you might jaunt down to the English department where once again you can observe Miss Hackman instructing a class with her unlimited range of rhetorical knowl- edge. Due to the fact that she is well versed in many fields and has given of her capabilities since 1931, we feel more than honored in dedicating Tl-IE BUBBLER to our Miss Hackman. Her guidance and amicable attitude have directed many to the finer aspects of scholarly achievement. 3 'U EO N T W J, A D N I N El IG V I7 223 Teo 11 1 HUB FRI VSAT A U N I 7 U 'J 7 U I I I District Superintendent Mr. Omar Seals Administrative Assistant Mr. Carl Guerriero You're sick, you say? Dear Diary, I am writing this entry, Dear Diary, to ask, For a senior class who will lighten my task, A class that will run a good intellectual race, One that will set a high moral pace, 'That underclassmen will envy and strive to ape, Whose curiosity and enthusiasm will leave teachers agape, I would like them, Dear Diary, to ask questions galore, To shun conformity as a wearisome bore, Could this be the Class of 62-63? This entry is closed: we will wait and see. Sincerely, Omar Seals District Superintendent In checking a diary I kept one summer during my boyhood, an incident came to mind which I would like to pass on to this year's graduates. It was my duty as a member of a Boy Scout Camp Staff to keep a supply of fire- wood cut for the cook to use in preparing our meals. Once when I complained the axe was not sharp enough, the old cook said, It isn't how sharp is the axe, it's how good is the steel. Good steel holds its edge and keeps on cutting. Now then, he said, How good is your steel? Have you got what it takes to keep swinging? So it goes with the stockpile of life: we add one stick -- one exam -- at a time. When you have built it, you will have some- thing quite unlike my woodpile. No matter how much you use it, you will never ex- haust the supply. Have you got what it takes to keep swinging? Walter D.
