The second contest of the season the Bubblers beat Hummelstown 31 to 6. This was the first time in three years we beat the Bulldogs Next, as the Bubblers,' kept rolling, they trounced Enola by a substantial margin of 30 to 0. In the next game against our arch rival Biglerville, the Canners with a surprising team gave us the only setback of the campaign by a 13 to 12 score. Going to New Cumberland next with a three and one record, the Buhblers pulled an upset by taming the 'Tigers with a 25 to 0 setback. Under expert guidance the team went on winning by beating the Black Hawks of Susquenita in a 20 to 6 duel. After giving the Cumberland Valley Eagles a lead, the boys got to work and brought home a 32 to 7 victory. On a soggy field the Bubblers defeated the West Shore Trojans by a score of 13 to 7. This proved to be one of the most exciting games of the season. The next defeat to be handed out was delivered to the Shippensburg Greyhounds The Greyhounds looked strong at first, but they weakened under the strain put on by the Bubblers ' and lost the game 27 to 0. In the final game the Bubblers proved their strength by being on the better end of a 26 to 13 score in which the Susquehanna ulndiansi' were scalped. A COACH SPEAKS The beginning of the school year found approximately twenty-five Junior High School boys, seventh and eighth graders, reporting for football practice, many of these for the first time in their young lives. These boys had a tough time getting fitted, as their weight ranged from about 81 pounds up to around 150 pounds. However, they all managed to get a uniform. Throughout the year these boys were being constantly out-played by other schools, much larger than Boiling Springs, which produced much larger boys. Though the size of some of the opponents would have been enough to turn a majority of young boys to fright, these boys did their very best. What they lacked in size, they made up in courage and determination. The boys won only one game, but that was a great victory for them. They defeated Biglerville by a score of 7-0, losing two close games, one to Northern Joint by a score of 7-0, and one to Hanover 13-7. The rest of the games played were too much for the boys and ended with big scores. In conclusion I might say that it has really been a privilege for me to be able to coach these boys, and to feel that I had some part in making better sportsmen, team workers, and strong young men out of these twenty-five boys. You will be hearing about these boys in the near future, I am sure. ' ' ll Varsity Boys Baslcetha Standing: Mr. Minnich, J. Jacoby, B. Grove, H. Peterman, B. Miller, E. Miller, D. Steinour, F.
