SPORADIC The school year of 1962 63 has been a rewarding one for the SPORADIC staff Building upon past ideas of former staffs and adding new ones the SPORADIC furnished the students with nme monthly issues International national state and school news and features were presented to 1ts readers This year the SPORADIC continued mem bershlp 1n the Intercollegiate Press Association Joined the Michigan tional Advertismg Service Inc The Collegiate D1gest from the Un1 vers1ty of Minnesota was used as an insert to gwe the students knowl edge of what was happening on other campuses throughout the Un1ted States Mr Charles D Eisenmann became the new advisor A camera was purchased A classroom was provided for the use of the Journal ism Workshop Deadline dates were always kept and the SPORADIC always came out on tune The paper has been recognized and commended on other campuses and looks forward to many more successful years 34 Collegiate Press Association, and utilized the services of the Na-

LADY JOURNALIST Nancy Ann Noble, SPORADIC Editor 11962-633, brought a diversified background of talent and interest to SMCC. Her knowledge of journalism began at Our Lady of Mercy High School, where she worked on the school paper. After gradua- tion in June, 1961, she was Editor of the monthly Newsletter for the Adult Youth Organization in her parish. She also was commended for her writing and presented with a contest award by The Writer's Digest. Upon coming to SMCC in September, 1961, she became a staff reporter, and later the News Editor for the SPORADIC. This year, as Editor, she also supervised the Journalism Workshop, and wrote the College Corner column for The Tri City Progress newspaper. She will give all the credit to her staff and associates, but she must be cited for her prominent role in the SPORADIC's success. Her efforts have been rewarded by her recent appointment to the Editorship of The Newsletter for The Federation of the In- ternational Students of the State of Michi- ganna Furthermore, Nancy has represented SMCC at state conferences and on radio groadcasts, promoted the SPORADIC on other campuses, and worked extensively in THE INTERNATIONAL CLUB. She has maintained a 3 point average and majored in English and History. After receiving an Associate in Arts Degree from SMCC in June, she will transfer to Wayne State Uni- versity's College of Education in September This blue-eyed, 20-year old Miss took the responsibility of her position to heart and diffused the facets of her background into it. 36
