eg, Dan Brose Vuee Presudenf Pat Mucklun Presudent Pat Morgan Secretary 'J The Classof 56 graduated Jur-e suxthnuneteen hundred fuftysuxateughtP M Wednesday evenung Taking a last look we find many hugh lughts of theurschool lufe at South Kutsap Hugh School Even wuth the rude awakenung of the alarm every momung the dullness of study halls and pushung un weary lunchlunes the past three years have been such that no years wull erase theur memorues Durung the graduates Sophomore year they sponsored the annual Sophomore Hop The theme was entutled Autumn Serenade The Co Chaurmen were Sharon Vaughn Sally See and JoAnne Thomas TheurJunuor year l955 found them busy wuth the Junuor Prom Thus dance had a foreugn aur wuth the theme of Japanese Paraduse The Co Chaurmen were Gean Rosenbarger Beverly Hennungsen Duann Purdy and Pat Morgan Reachung the top as Senuors un I956 they presented as theur Senuor Ball Staurway To The Stars The Co Chaurmen were Mary Ellen Klune Januce Van Alstune Jeanne Carter and Mary Jane Peterson Also guven un theur senuor year was the Gurls Club Tolo wuth a curcus theme untitled Carousel Co Chaurmen were Duann Purdy Marulyn Wensky and Pat Morgan Dramatucs seemed to work overtume un the graduates spare tume The Hungaruan comedy Seven Susters wuthacastof fourteen students was presented un theur uunuor year As senuors they made theur auduence laugh wuth a hullaruous comedy You Can t Take It Wuth You Many one act plays were guven for publuc as well as for hugh school students Thespuans and Drama Club members worked hard wuth candy sales rummages sales, paper druves, plays and many money makung prouects un order to rause funds for a Drama Conference held un Bloomungton lnduana after graduat on Football season started the sports actuvutues out wuth a kuck and a tackle Wuth Bert ller as captaunand all the backung guven from hus team mates they came through the season wuth only two loses and seven wuns Homecomung topped off the season wuth a beautuful Queen Marol Moskelandandahandsome Mr Kutsap Bull Baxter headung the Court The theme for Homecoming was Green Years honorung the Class of l920 The Co-Chairmen were Lindq Arrungton and Claure Hoover Basketball season came next and found South Kutsap placung thurd among the Aschools un the Olympic League ln the sprung baseball and track stepped into theur place Some outstanaung student awards were guven to a few of the graduates of 56 The senior vocal truo consusting of Sharon Vaughn JoAnne Thomas and Jo Ellen Lullehei, received Q superuor rating at the Western Washington solo contest Eduth Wall receuved a fufty dollar savungs bond in aspeech contestsponsored by the Knughts of Pythuas and also a Betty Crocker award Lynn Hendrickson won a twenty-fuve dollar check for a fabruc desugn in a Chucago Art Contest The clumax to the entire years events found the seniors graduatuon night on board the VurgunuaVforan all nughtcruise on the sound They danced to a combo and ate a smorgas- board on board the cruiser. Arriving un Bremerton about sux o clock Thursday mornung they ate a steak breakfast at a restraunt in Bremerton The year l956 finally draws to a close and with it ends only a small portuon of the luves ofthese graduates. What the future may bring to these people is uncertain but under God's guidance we only hope their lives will be as full as their school life at South Kitsap has been. I7
