The Wolves four man team composed of Butch Ashby, Tom Valley, George Boze, and Dick Thane all run out- standing races around Wright Park in Tacoma as they bested the cream of Western Wash- ington high school runners. Not taking any glory away from Valley and Ashby, much unsung credit must go to Boze and Thane who were iust as instrumental in abling SK to rack up the '56 championship. It was those two little distance runners, though donning the gard of South Kitsap, thatopened the eyes of Marathon spectators. Ashby broke the existing record of l6:l6.5 with an outstanding run of l5g33.7. Team- mate Tom Valleyalso shattered the old mark as he broke the tape in 15:43 as he placed second to the blond headed Ashby. This truly marked a high spot of the '56 track season and will go down in the ann- ualsof South Kitsap as one of the great run- ning efforts turned in by a group of Wolves runners. l4O 'ks'-M X- , its sg, , ,Q X.. .X ai -Sp ' YQ 1 ,, ,, .55 .aid W . ni?
