ff 1.51, Above: Calisthenics form a vital part of the physical education classes sponsored at Kitsap. Many junior and senior boys continue their physical training as P. E. assistants and by turning out for body- building sports such as football. basket- ball. baseball. track. and tennis. Right: The marking of a hem holds the rapt attention of these members of a sewing class. Every junior high girl takes home economics, and advanced classes in tailoring, meal planning, and specialty food preparation are available for senior high girls. Despite present conditions each senior will retain some aspiration he has looked forward to go through high school and which he hopes to accomplish in his future life, Reviewing briefly the outstanding epics of their senior year a passing parade of parties. games, fads. assemblies, the class play, Best Foot Forward, arrival of the Skuhkum, and the 4'VJinter XVonderland Senior Ball all helped enliven the more commonplace assignment of study. Violating precedent, class elections were held each semester thus enabling more students to hold office although some were reelected. Another unusual occurrence of the year was the outcome of scholastic honors. Two students, Adrian Olsen and Henry Muyskens, Jr.. tied for valedictorian, something which had never happened before in the history of the school. The final climax was reached with baccalaureate and commencement, May 27 and May 31. respectively, when this graduating class departed from the life at Kitsap to see for them- selves what the tomorrow had in store
