LUNDBERG Adviser HQWARD CQBLE PEGGY O'NEILL lIM MacKAY president Secretary ' Vice President One hundred and nine Kitsapians, now dignified Seniors, opened their social season with the annual Ball, given on the evening of November thirteenth. Since Victory has been the main theme for the year, this was called the Victory Ball. Out for victory, a record breaking crowd attended the Senior Play, Out of the Frying Pan, which was presented on December 4, 5, and 13. The third presenta- tion of the play was given Penthouse Style in Port Orchard for the first time in the history of Kitsap. Five senior boys helped retain the Basketball Cup by winning the Tri-County Championship for a second successive year. With the Seniors pitted against the rest of the student body, the Owls upheld the honor of the senior class by defeating the Wolves 46-33 in the last basketball game of the season. ,gy '1- x 'im MRS. K5 ao 805 X 5616 Q1 ee STUDENT COUNCIL -M SY, Oitgad at-PX SGC The student body year really began last May when officers for 1942-43 were elected after a fiery campaign with the Pep, Varsity, and Victory parties sponsoring candidates. Bob Ross was elected president and Ralph Monaghan and Nadine Crawshaw were elected vice- president and secretary, respectively, to serve with him. A new constitution was completed, adopted, and put into effect during the year. A grant of S100 was given to Hooters' Club to carry on Red Cross work while many members were active in this field. Other activities for the year were somewhat cur- tailed due to the war. The annual Kitsap Karnival was not held because of the inability to secure food and prizes for the event. Gas and tire rationing put a crimp into nearly all evening affairs. A lighted athletic field was selected as the school project The students began the drive with a maga- zine subscription campaign to secure funds for the field. Profits go toward a completed stadium behind the school. First row: L. Pattison, B. Ross, N. Crawshaw, R. Monaghan, B. Huffman. Second row: H. Coble, I. Ward, E. Caretti, P. Bunten, G. Heathcote. The Tolo, an outstanding event of the year, was held in the afternoon and it proved to be very successful. The Welfare committee again helped many needy families with baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Red Cross work was continued this year with the girls working on surgical dressings and helping out whenever possible. In spite of the rationing problems the annual Mother and Daughter banquet was a huge success. GIRLS' CLUB OFFICERS L. Stewart, secretary, E. Caretti, pres- identg V. Plummer, F. Willard, B. Somes. .Ill llllt HIGH 'I' Dll 'I' Cllll Cllr The Iunior High has been especially active in school affairs this year. The establishment of the Iunior High as an independent educational unit with Mr. Grosso as Principal has done much to increase the activities. Among the 'activities oi the Iunior High was the forma- tion of the Service Club whose responsibilities were to keep the Iunior High in order. This club functioned under Miss Foster and Miss King and consisted of two representatives of each class. The lunior High also put on its own assemblies, discovering much talent, and this year had its own basketball team which received the enthusiastic backing of the whole stu- dent body. iiuv- still' I .
