O Coach Kvirtsland WOLVES HAVE GOOD SEASON UNDER NEW COACH The Wolves, playing their first season under the steady coaching of Stener Kvinsland, get off to a slow start in league play as they dropped their first two games by the scores of 20 to U to Port Angeles and 13 to O to Vaughn. From then on the Kitsap eleven showed steady improvement and were at top performance when they defeated Port Townsend 13 to 0 and tied North Kitsap by a O to 0 score. The Wolves were once again represented in both the Tri County and Peninsula leagues. There are seven seniors graduating from Kvinsland's grid iron squad, probably the most outstanding of the seven are George Guyll, playing his first season of football and voted inspirational player of the squad, and Walt Collings the squads smallest lineman who was voted the team's honorary captain. Other seniors graduating from the squad are Ellis, end, Spry, guard, Iohnson, guardg Budd, end, and Watt, tackle. Several sophomores and juniors were outstanding during the season and will probably play important parts in the squad next season. Coach Stener Kvinsland, a former Poulsbo high school star and assistant coach there last year, gave his first season to Kitsap this year. He has attended Western Washington College of Education and Pacific Lutheran and is a good man in football. - F' : H' ' , H th t , P t son, Arnold, Sh , Li pert, Sm'th, B own, Sersdnldwilow:ui?'lIdEson?aWzSg3n, iqiflull, Bunting, Wlllsvon, fohnson, lllarkeg, Prichard Spry Forward Guyll, Forward Davis, Guard Smith, Guard Ellis, Center Dec. lan, Feb BASKETBALL TRI-COUNTY LEAGUE BASKETBALL SCHEDULE South Kitsap South Kitsap Vaughn ,,..,,,.t,..,.r, South Kitsap South Kitsap Silverdale ,A Gig Harbor North Kitsap South Kitsap Vashon , ,,.,, , Bainbridge South Kitsap Gig Harbor North Kitsap South Kitsap Vashon ,..,,,., Bainbridge ,. Traveling then to Vaughn the team lost, winning only one out of five, Coach Foster then traveled with her squad to Bainbridge where they defeated the Spartans by taking three of their five matches. Roger Davis, junior, is the teams most outa standing player and is the most likely candidate for the county's number one man. Besides Davis, lerry Carroll and Art Moore are the only lettermen to return to Coach Fosters squad.
