Tom spends his free time hunting and horseback riding. By working for a local veterinarian. Tom has been develop- ing his interest in the lield in which he plans to specialize. His dependability and conscientiousness will aid our future vet. f I EDWARD HORACE DODGE Eddie. one of the quieter members of our class. is active in both the vocational practice and the agriculture courses. With his keen interest in cars he has developed considerable skill in repairing engines. He is one of our many enthusiastic hot rod fans. Although he is interested in sports, his hobby is listening to music, particu- larly the semi-classics, Last summer he worked at the Dunes Club. Eddie is the serious type, but he is well liked by his friends. f U 4 if-' It ,-I - f ROBERT ASHLEY DODGE During his four years at S. K. Bob has won many friends by his easy going, delib- erate ways. He is talented as an artist, but he would prefer to spend his time working on trucks. Bobs practical experience with motors has made him a good mechanic. He has been a vocational practice and an aggie student and has used his knowledge to good advantage in his summer jobs. His other interests include dancing and listen- ing to cowboy music, but he finds time to attend S. Kfs sporting events. Besides holding a part time job, he manages a little relaxa- tion by going horseback riding. hunting. camping. and bowling. -lay takes great pride in his horse. Genius Again. 'J NORMAN GORDON CHAMPLIN Easy going Norm is one of the quieter members of our class and is well liked by all his companions. He is interested in agriculture and has been president of the Future Farmers of America for two years. His favorite pastimes include roller-skating and dancing, and although he holds a part time job, he still finds time for hobbies and recreation. After graduation he plans a career in agriculture. DARRYL LEE CLARK ln manner quiet and reserved, Darryl surprises us at times with his subtle sense of humor. He has a great admiration for the literary classics and takes pleasure in listening to classical music. In the Science Fair of 1951 he won a first grant for his project on bats, during his junior year he was president of the Chess Club. He in- tends to continue his study in liberal arts. ALICE CHARLOTTE CONLEY Charlotte formerly lived in Block Island, but now she lives in Narragansett, We lil-te our island friend, for she has a pleasant disposition and a willingness to help any- one. Although majoring in the commercial course for the past three years, her chief interest is in home economics. Her pa- tience, sympathy, and understanding are qualities which will contribute to her hap- piness. Mlcwcw KAYE FRANCES CORBETT Kaye, one of the busiest girls in our class, has enlivened many situations with her witty conversation. She has many outa side interests and hobbies, but poetry is more than a hobby with Kaye, for she not only reads and enjoys it, but she also col- lects and writes poetry. She is Senior Editor of The REBEL and is a member of the French Club and the Dramatics Club. With her personality and warm manner Kaye can spread cheer and happiness every- where. VALERIE ALICE COUNTWAY Our junior Prom Queen has been at S.K. only two years, but in that time we have come to love our charming and scin- tillating classmate. Her excellent scholastic record is undiminished by her active par- ticipation in many clubs. Activities Editor of THE ANCHOR, she also is president of the Dramatics Club and served as co-chair- man of the Welcome Dance and was a member of the chemistry team. Among her other extra curricula activities are French Club and REBEL. She has been a member of the J. V. cheering squad and last year entertained us at the S. K. Pades with her ballet solo and her dance routine. A viva- cious beauty with a delightful personality, Valerie has taught us the value of demo- ctatic friendship. 33 a

BETTY JANE GARDNER ALBERT ANTHONY FERRARO. JR. His crew cut and flashy ties are two features that distinguish Albert, His witty conversation punctuated by his sly grin at- tracts his friends. Active in all phases of sports, he has been especially valuable on the varsity eleven, for his steady playing contributed to the morale of the team. Albert has also played basketball for four years. A member of the Boys' Glee Club, he has participated in many school activi- nature and his likable personality have made an indelible impression on us. Ken, tall and goodalooking, is an enthusiastic and loyal supporter of all S. K. sports. Swimming, fishing, and sport cars are among his many interests. DENNIS ROBERT GARDINER Dennis, one of the quieter members of our class, has belonged to the Future Farmers of America for the past two years. Although he may appear serious, he has a fine sense of humor. One of his favorite possessions is his '41 Chevy. Among his pastimes, hunting and ice skating are tops. Although he holds a part time job, he still hnds time for fun. IKM Betty jane, a blue-eyed brunette, is cas- ual in manner but efficient in performance of duties. She was our delegate to Girls' State conference during her iunior year. ln her senior year she was made a buyer for the Retail Selling Class. For four years she has been active in the Girls' Glee Club. Betty joined Marie and Carolyn for an en- tertaining feature at our S. K. Pades. She is very much interested in football and basketball, but her hobby is horseback riding. Her cheerfulness and her fresh outlook on life are stimulating to her com- panions. CURTIS HERMAN GATES Curt is an active radio amateur. He is a licensed operator and contacts many fellow hams around the world. He has spent more than a little tiene, effort, and money on his equipment. Besides his work with his radio transmitter, Curt has entered the Science Fair for four years and has re- ceived several grants. An enthusiastic chess player, Curtis was elected vice-president of the Chess Club in his junior year. Genial and talented, Curt has the ability and the initiative to succeed. af 9 fi I
