Our Junior Prom Queen, Nancy has be- come one of the most popular members of out class through het friendly and tactful manner. She is our class secretary, Assis- tant Editor of the ANCHOR, and a loyal worker on the REBEL. Nancy is able to maintain high marks besides holding a part-time job. lndustrious and co-operative, Nancy's ambition is to serve mankind as a nurse. VIOLA ANN ALMEIDA Uwfitbout lore and laughter were lt no jug. ln the midst of carefree laughter, we find petite Viola, a merry girl with a beam- ing smile for everyone. A conscientious worker, she is always ready with a helping hand. Viola's enthusiasm for sports is chiefly centered around softball. Her hobby, knitting, and her job as a part-time tele- phone operator consume much of Viola's spare time. ALICE BELKNAP ARNOLD Tell me, wha! if rormu'.9 One of the liveliest members of our class, Alice with her quick wit is con- stantly surrounded by laughing friends. Her lovely voice will long be remembered by the Glee Club. Alice's willingness and industrious manner have made her a wel- come member of the Retail Selling Club, for she is always on hand to help at all the games. ETHEL MARIE BANNISTER All who joy would :vin mm! rhare il: Happinerr um burn a tum. The echo of Ethel's laughter will live long in the classrooms and corridors of S.K. Het friendly disposition and pleasant manner have made her a jolly and sociable companion. A commercial student, Ethel has been a member of the Glee Club, the Knitting Club, and the Photography Club. His ready grin tells us that he is always ready to share in good fun. CLASS PRESIDENTS MESSAGE To my classmates: As we glance back over our four years at South Kingstown High School, we know that our achieve- ments and even our trials and tribulations have been worth while. Yet we cannot but come to the conclu- sion that the past four happy years at S. K. have helped to make us more understanding, respectful, and intelligent Americans. XVe know that the prob- lems of the troubled future are our problems. XVe know, too, that we have received an adequate prepar' ation for the duties that lie before us. The graduates of today have the task of bringing peace, knowledge, and understanding in order to spread democracy to the peoples of the world. Wfith the help ol God we cannot but be successful. Through her ambitious work in 4-H, she was awarded a trip to Chicago this year. Barbara has excelled in her business training, and with this back- ground and her pleasing personality she will succeed in secretarial work. Her gentle manner has made her a wel- come member in class activities. Lucille's many interests include sewing and dancing. Capable and well-groomed, Lucille plans to become a hairdresser after graduation. Last. year Marion won a trip to Chicago for her -4-H project in home improvement. Mary participates in many school activi- ties.
