FORE WORD 1951 marks the transition for us from sheltered adolescence to the independence of adulthood, from the leisurely hours of school to a world of reality where mistakes are made but once. As a remembrance of this passing age we have presented the events in a composite form, THE ANCHOR, which represents an accumulation of experiences, memories, and achievements bound together in the pages of a book to enjoy now and in the years to come. While going forward in the pursuit of truth and happiness, we shall recall our many happy days at South Kingstown High School by rereading this chronicle. To Mr. Conlon and Mr. Wriglit we offer our humble thanks for the. kindness, sympathy, and deep understanding which they have shown in our four years at South Kings- town High School. This year's ANCHOR follows a construction completely different in make-up from any previous ANCHOR. The format has been arranged according to the seasons, with activities pictured in calendar sequence. It is our hope and desire that this '51 ANCHOR will record the experiences and associations which have con- tributed to make these four years richer and more significant. CONLON Superintendent Mr. Wrigbt's Message To The Senior Class For many of you, your formal education will be terminated on graduation day and I wish you the fondest farewell from South Kingstown High, but you must bear in mind that your informal education is just starting. It will be necessary for you to con- tinue to use your ability to the utmost in order to become a true citizen of our great country. You are graduating at a time when our nation, and many other nations, are in a state of confusion and tension. Good luck and God bless you in the tasks that are be- fore you.
