On arriving at school Helen emerges from her almost over- flowing car to greet us with her friendly l1ello. She spends much of her spare time enioying the outdoor activities at Salt Pond. A sports fan, she attends all the games. In her serious moments, she is skill- ful at line needlework and has won prizes at the state fair for her work. A Q EARL RAYNE BOND He Ibn! giver all girei' much. Earl, our quiet, tall, blue eyed blond, has done out- standing work in the field of scouting. As a cubmaster of a den in Kingston, he has made frequent camping trips and attended the Second National Jamboree at Valley Forge. As a Freshman and again as a Sophomore Earl participated in the Science Fair. Friendli- ness and courtesy are two of the many gentlemanly qualities for which we greatly respect and admire Earl. DALE EDNWARD BROXWN ll'i belief In 1l'8.H' rm! 15.111 lu ful! auf. Dale has the ambition and school spirit that make him one of the most dynamic mem- bers of our class. He has been manager of the football team and plays basketball and base- ball. Dale arrives at school early in order to start a heated debate with Mr. Toole or Mr. Hall about the world of sports. Beverly, a neat and attrac- tive girl, makes the long trip from XX'est Kingston livelier by her pleasantness. As a mem- ber of the Dramatic Club and a member of THE REBEL staff she has proved her de- pendability. Outside of school Beverly enjoys square dancing and roller skating and attends the stock car racing at King- ston. STEVEN H. BROXWNING A merry hero! Xflfl' all lbe day. A roar of a motor at five of nine always announces Steve's arrival at school. Sauntering into class with not a care in the world, he soon enlivens the dullest subject with his drollness. Steve has a practical side too, for he worked on a potato farm and spent one summer deep sea hshing. His car and hunting are his hob- bies, As a member of the Na- tional Guard, Steve was called to active duty at Camp Pickett, Virginia, during his senior year. Sanggfk , 3'5 MN i A ,J . This shy young fellow with his quiet manner is from Moorsefield. He has played football for four years. Perseverance and determina- tion have marked George's efforts. CAROLYN CARPENTER Laugh and Ike world lazugfir zvilfa yin. Basketball Champ! That's Carolyn. She not only is an enthusiastic sports player but also is an accomplished pian- ist. Although Carolyn is shy in school, her pleasing smile and sparkling eyes are often seen at games which she at- tends regularly. Her good na- ture, dependability, and loyalty to her friends have been recog- nized by many. .,-7 IQ
