Heres Comes Santa Before Christmas vacation began, the holiday spirit was expressed throughout the school. Y-Teens spon- sored a door decoration contest for first period classes to creatively express their thoughts for the holiday sea- son. Singing carols, exchanging gifts, decorating the school, and attending Christmas concerts students ea- gerly awaited the arrival of Santa and a two-week vaca- tion from school. :xd , Soloishts Perform at Christmas Concerts 'During December the chorus presented concerts at the United American Bank, the Hyatt Regency, and the school auditorium. Under the direction of Mrs. Beverly Kerr one hundred and twenty choral members partici- pated in the concerts. Selected soloists performing in- cluded Jimmy Staley, Regina Stanton, Missy Day, Billy Jackson, George Davis, Missy Crowder, Erik Chandler, and Wendy Winfrey. UPPER: Santa Claus makes a surprise visit to South. LOWER: Mrs. Kerr plays the piano and directs the chorus at the Hyatt House. 30 Features
