Students Cast Ballots For Class Officers During the first week of December students voted for class officers, which included president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer for each grade. To qualify as a can- didate, students had to turn in petitions signed by twenty five students in the same grade. Before the elections candi- dates campaigned with posters and nametags. GM Presents Previews of Progress On December 7, General Motors sponsored an as- sembly to the South students. Consuelo Ty Ancog presented demonstrations using solor energy to power a car, mixed ingredients together to form synthetic mate- rials, and entertained the audience with a talking com- puter and laser beam light show. The demonstrations vividly portrayed the application of scientific discov- eries to modern day living. UPPER: Mr. Underwood introduces the demonstrator.
