More than 700 young peopie have received dipiomas from our high schooi since that june day neariy 20 years ago, when i9 seniors were first graduated. H H Since then, the ciasses have grown in size each year untii this year's group wiii number 58, more than three times as iarge as that first ciass i and one of the iargest ciasses yet to receive South Huntington High Schooi dipiomas. IV in addition to its size, the Ciass of '49 is interesting and aimost unique ii in other ways. For the first time in the schooi's history the boys who are H S graduating outnumber the giris, 34 to 24. For the first time, too, the top W CHO ten honor students are dominated by boys, seven to three. ' The numericai comparisons between boys and giris is of no particuiar importance excepting as it apparentiy proves that more boys are reaiizing Com hefe the vaiue of high schooi graduation and are staying in schooi untii that hge ell!-6 i ' hiev d.
