CLASS PROP!-IECY LOOK BEFORE, OR YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF BEHIND, The last strains of Auld Lang Sync and the final tinkle of up-raised glasses in a hearty farewell toast for the Forty-Niners still ring in a very special room of our memory hall. It is faint now, in 1959, but it is still there. At long last, after 10 mysterious and awakening years, the members of the class of '49 are bound to meet again taking into consideration the headlines of yesterday's Television newspapers: Fort Knox Gold Deposit Opened to Public, what with the precious uranium taking gold's place. Within a matter of hours, all or nearly all, of the '49ers will be arriving here in their auto-jets or by supersonic subway to claim their share. Maybe we'll end up by having a reunion. Stick around! Among the first arrivals here at Fort Knox is none other than Isabella Ardito. Isy's well known as captain of the Broadway Rockettes. What's that she's doing? Of-course, she's posing for her personal publicity photographer, Larry Bauer. Not a bad job for either of them. Hi! Say, Larry, there's a good shot for you. The DOT BERTRAM has just ar- rived. The star of Ice Follies of '59. We can't say we're surprised. Joan Brooks is here, too. She's doing well as a darn good night club entertainer. Speaking of en- tertainment, Pete Brandt's hot-cha band, starring our own vocalists, Sylvia Cathro and john Pedersen, is still at the Strand. They'll probably be good for 10 more years there. The lad in cowboy clothes and with that cute drawl is Bob Boula, owner and manager of the Double B Ranch. Glad to see you got your wish, Bob. We sure wish Gloria would show up but, of- course, she's on a slow boat to China with-her Sugar Daddy. Lucky us! This IS turning out to be a reunion after all. Teddy Cumella got in a little while ago from a nation wide tour with the Knickerbockers, their star player. It looks as if Bill Cozetti hasn't made enough dough on the Yankee's farm team so he's down here for his share of that yellow stuff. Tell us we see wrong! Yes, it is Honey Brown with her 15 red-headed angels With that many kids Honey will need more than gold. What's that crash behind Honey? We might have known- Loretta De Dora has just dropped her latest pile of records. You'll have to listen to Larry Smith, now the Ted Husing and No. 1 Disc jockey of our time. Well, who is that driving up in the shiny limousine? It's Larry De Hart, folks. He has become the construction tycoon of the East Coast. He just gave Frank Driscoll a lift. Since Frank went into teaching, he can't afford a car that would make this trip. He took up where Mr. Craft left off. He's principal now. We better tell him that his buddy is here. Yes, Frank Dore who helped to in- vent the supersonic subway. As he would say himself, people are still dying to see Donald Ford, the Friendly Undertaker and Bill Graesser, the man that just smashed the auto-jet record in a car designed by Bob Lutz. They make quite a team! Come out of those shadows, Bill Hine. Can't you forget for awhile that you're a private eye ? Here come some old pals you know: Evie Hutchinson, Ethel Huber and Alberta Oster, more commonly known as the deadly trio that keep Donald Ford in business. They should never have gone into nurs- ing. This reunion should have Charley Kalkowsky and Bill Podmore here from Hollywood to film it. Could the rumors about Bill's romantic life out there be true? The impossible has happened! Marion Boehm is employed by Prell's Broadway Shows as-the Fat Lady! We knew Marion could do anything. Alice Sauer and Margie Kopp, Americas most charming air hostesses, have just flown in from Burma with Russell Wood aboard. Russ is now a Page 21
