QUZIE COVINGTON Elected as the senior girl Most Likely to Succeed, Suzie Covington surely will have no trouble in succeeding it she maintains a record similar to the one she has made at South Houston. Suzie has served as class secretary for two years, Junior Rotary Ann, and vice-president at the Honor Society. During her junior year, she was elected Valentine Queen, Trojan Council representative, and Girls' State Representative. Suzie has been a member ot the Palladium statt, Tri-Hi-Y, and has been second lieu- tenant in the 'Jannettes. In addition to these honors, she has received the Academic Excellence Award, Elks' Award, third place in ready writing at State lnterscholas- tic League Competition, and the Jones Scholarship. BE-CKY Cl-VSMBEIZS A member of the Torch Stott, Becky Chambers has been an enthusiastic Trojan. She has served as a cheer- leader tor three years, and as a Trojan Council represent- ative. Becky has been elected to the senior spotlight, Most Versatile, Homecoming Queen, and she was a ti- nalist tor the Beauties ot Troy. Also, she has been a mem- ber ofthe A Cappella Choir and the Madrigal Choir at South Houston. f. .ii DOY CAQTILLO A member ot Quill and Scroll, Roy Castillo has been an outstanding student in journalism. He has served as sports editor of the Torch his junior year and as editor this year. In addition, he has served as Houston Journalism Day representative and as a Junior Rotarian. Roy received the Most Valuable Stafter Award, and he won first place in headline writing at lnterscholastic League Competition and second place in the Public School Essay Contest. 85
