Due to a maximum effort, the Trojans were able to edge out always-powerful Baytown by four points, giving them their first district track championship in four years. Besides winning the District Meet, the Trojan cindermen won five other team championships and sent six boys to the State Meet in Austin. The team was led by captains Jimmy White, Rick Lindberg, and Wayne Adams, who together compiled close to 500 points for the team. Individual school records were smashed this year in the IOO-yard dash, 220-yard dash, 440-yard relay, and shot put, and Allan Graham became the first sophomore in the history of the school to run the TOO- yard dash in 9.9. 242 1
