Tomorrow's adults will be fashioned from today's youth. Today's adults are the custodians of the past and present achievements of our great nation. If our nation is to continue its progress, we, the adults, must ask our Lord for guidance to assist us in inspirating and educating our youth to meet the challenge that will be required of them in the future. The world of tomorrow will be better than the world today, if today's youth develop their abilities to perform well the tasks they are assigned by the society in which they live. A great number of people look up to them all the time. They must be intelligent, too. Of course, being a cheerleader is also fun and rewarding. They meet new people and get to go a great number of places. A PERSONAL NOTE TO THE CHEERLEADERS OF THE FUTURE: Good luck in all you attempt and keep the South Hopkins reputation going strong. I We slowly turn back the yellow pages of our minds and have talks with our moms, trying to find out what it was like way back when . . Here, at South Hopkins, we not only turn back the pages of our minds, but we also turn back the way we dress, the way we wear our hair, the way we act, and the style of music that we hear. It's FIFTIE'S DAY. It's time to drag out mom's poodle skirt, dad's hair tonic, and the old bobby socks and bee bops. Songs of Elvis, Chubby Checker, the Teddy Bears, and Bill Haley and the Comets, to name a few, is being played over the radio. Old cheers, and funny dances fill the hallways. It's the '50‘s again! THEMES Senior-Pathways to Victory Junior-We Are the Champions Sophomore-Cat Wars Freshmen-We're Expecting a Victory The winners of the hall decoration were Freshmen Runners-up were the Seniors. We would like to thank the faculty and administration for continuing the tradition of Spirit Week. Without the festivities of Spirit Week, District Tournament would be just another game. We played West Hopkins during the Homecoming. The theme of Homecoming was Always and Forever . Sandra and Ray were crowned under an array of cupids and hearts symbolizing the romantic mood of Valentines Day. BACK ROW, L to R: Troy Hopper; Darrell Bennett; Ray Browning; and Larry Stanley. FRONT ROW, L to R: Russell Crunk; Charles Denton; last year's king, Mark Hardwick; Terry Holmes; and Kirby Hoodenpyle. This is not the end.
