All five starters averaged in double figures. The TOMCATS were winners of District 7 and Region 2, which won for them the honored position of a Sweet Sixteen team in the State Tournament at Louisville. Although they were defeated in the first round, the score was only 61-58 and they provided the Tomcat fans many chills and thrills, and opened the eyes of many sports enthusiasts who had not known before that there was a South Hopkins High School. The TOMCATS were the team representing the baby school in the tournament, and we are proud of them, indeed.
